Recalled Models and Details

The following Anker power banks are involved in the recall:

  1. Anker Power Bank – Model A1647 (20,000mAh, Built-in USB-C Cable)
  2. Anker Zolo Power Bank – Model A1681 (20K, 30W, Built-in USB-C and Lightning Cable)
  3. Anker Zolo Power Bank – Model A1689 (20K, 30W, Built-in USB-C Cable)

Health Canada has noted that the affected lithium-ion batteries in these models could overheat, posing a fire hazard to users. The company has sold 11,985 units of these power banks in Canada between December 2023 and June 2025.

Consumer Safety Actions

Health Canada urges consumers to immediately stop using the recalled power banks. Affected individuals can contact Anker for a replacement product or a website voucher, free of charge. Consumers are also advised to dispose of the power banks safely. Since lithium-ion batteries are considered hazardous waste, they should not be thrown in the household trash. Instead, consult with your municipality for proper disposal instructions.

While no injuries have been reported in Canada as of June 18, the recall is being implemented as a precautionary measure. The potential for fire hazards was highlighted by a previous recall in the U.S., which affected over one million Anker PowerCore 10000 power banks.

Global Recall Expansion

Anker has expanded this recall globally, affecting several other power bank models, including the Anker Power Bank (10K, 22.5W) and the Anker MagGo Power Bank. This follows a series of quality assurance protocols implemented by Anker earlier this year. Although the risk of malfunction is minimal, Anker is taking action to prevent potential accidents.
