RUSSELL! and Nari Created a New Song in 48 Hours Inside a Glass Studio in Toronto
For 48 hours, PATRÓN Crafted Live turned a downtown Toronto recording session into a public experience. Canadian artist RUSSELL! joined producer Nari inside a transparent studio at 400 Front Street West. Their challenge was simple: create one original song from scratch within two days.
Passersby watched the process unfold through the studio walls. Ideas became lyrics, while melodies and production developed in real time. The final result became a new track called “On the Rocks.”
Toronto Watched the Song Come Together
The project gave Toronto audiences access to a process that usually happens privately. RUSSELL! and Nari wrote, produced, and recorded while people watched from outside. VITA Magazine also covered the activation and its 48-hour creative challenge.
The project arrives during another active year for RUSSELL!. The Brampton artist released his FLOWERS project in March 2026. Complex Canada later included the album among its best Canadian releases of 2026 so far.
His career, however, started long before his current releases. RUSSELL! first built an audience online under the name D-Pryde. VICE recently explored his two-decade journey from early YouTube uploads to his current music.
RUSSELL! and Nari Put the Creative Process on Display
PATRÓN Crafted Live focused less on a traditional performance and more on making the song itself. Fans could watch both artists test ideas and build the track. The setup turned a working recording studio into a street-level window on music production.
“Working with PATRÓN has been the highlight of my year,” RUSSELL! said about the collaboration. He described the partnership as a natural fit for his creative approach. He also credited Nari as an important part of what they created together.
The project connected PATRÓN’s focus on craftsmanship with the artists’ recording process. Instead of presenting only the finished track, the campaign showed the work behind it. That approach placed experimentation, revisions, and collaboration in front of the audience.
“On the Rocks” Is Now Available
The temporary studio only stayed at Front Street West for 48 hours. However, the music created inside it now continues beyond the activation. “On the Rocks” is officially available following its live Toronto recording session.
The release gives listeners the finished version of a song Toronto watched develop in real time. It also adds another local collaboration to RUSSELL!’s growing 2026 catalogue. For anyone who passed the glass studio, the final track now answers what was happening inside.
