Luminato Festival 2025: Toronto’s Citywide Art Playground Returns June 4–22
Toronto’s streets, theatres, and public spaces are about to transform again. From June 4 to 22, 2025, the Luminato Festival returns with a bold new theme: DAY:NIGHT. This year, the festival dives into how we experience our city in a 24-hour cycle—turning the ordinary into extraordinary, from the first light of dawn to the last dance at night.
A City Transformed: Art in Every Corner
Luminato has always been about reimagining Toronto. Unlike your typical arts festival, it brings performance art, music, theatre, dance, and installations into spaces you wouldn’t expect. From cemetery walks to late-night art pop-ups, it invites you to see the city through a different lens.
This year’s theme, DAY:NIGHT, asks how we engage with time, space, and community. Every breath, sunrise, and sunset becomes part of a collective story.

Through relationship-building and collaborative programming, Luminato aspires to reflect the values of these treaties in its actions.
A Legacy of Creativity
Since its first edition in 2007, Luminato has been a platform for over 1,500 artists, bringing groundbreaking performances and installations to Toronto. Past editions featured global names like Eric Idle, Rufus Wainwright, Amal Clooney, and Marina Abramović, alongside local talents.
