Your Guide to the 2025 Canadian International Air Show
The familiar roar over Lake Ontario is coming back. Toronto’s beloved Labour Day weekend tradition, the Canadian International Air Show (CIAS), returns for its 76th year. From August 30 to September 1, 2025, the skies above the city will fill with incredible aerial displays. It’s a classic end-of-summer event for families and anyone looking for some high-flying excitement.
A Toronto Labour Day Staple
Since 1946, the CIAS has been a fixture in the 6ix. As North America’s longest-running air show, it draws huge crowds to the waterfront each year. The show is a tribute to Canada’s rich aviation history and a showcase of modern aerial power. Over three afternoons, spectators will see a mix of historical aircraft and powerful fighter jets perform amazing maneuvers.
Who’s Flying High in 2025
This year’s lineup is set to impress. Get ready to crane your necks and watch these amazing performers take flight:
- Canadian Forces Snowbirds: Always a crowd-pleaser, the Snowbirds are famous for their tight formations and precision flying.
- CF-18 Demonstration Team: Expect a loud and proud performance from Canada’s primary fighter jet.
- F-35 Demo Team: The United States Air Force is sending this advanced aircraft to show off its incredible capabilities.
- Luke Penner: This pilot is making his CIAS debut with a solo aerobatic performance.
- Trevor Rafferty in the Pitts 12: See a 400-horsepower homebuilt plane, inspired by 1930s designs, pushed to its limits.
- CL-415 Water Bomber: A powerful demonstration from Ontario’s Ministry of Natural Resources.
More Than Just an Air Show
The fun isn’t just in the sky. Back on the ground at Exhibition Place, there is plenty for the whole family to do.
A free STEM Zone offers hands-on exhibits, virtual reality demonstrations, and a chance to see real aircraft up close. You can also meet some of the pilots and performers. When you get hungry, a food truck village will feature a variety of local eats.
