KidKraft Farm to Table Model Play Kitchen Recalled in Canada After U.S. Toddler’s Death
Health Canada has issued a nationwide recall for the KidKraft Farm to Table Model Play Kitchen following the tragic death of a toddler in the United States. The product, sold widely in Canada through Costco, Amazon, and possibly other retailers, poses a serious strangulation risk to young children.

Why the Play Kitchen Was Recalled
The recall stems from a February 2023 incident in Oregon where a 23-month-old child died after becoming entangled on one of the metal hooks designed to hold toy kitchen accessories. The child climbed and crawled through the opening at the back of the unit when their shirt got caught. The kitchen wasn’t anchored to the wall, which created a gap that trapped the child.
Health Canada warns that if children climb on the counter or crawl through the back opening, their clothing may catch on the plastic or metal hooks, putting them at risk of strangulation and asphyxia.
