Zellers Is Returning to Shoppers World in Brampton After 14 Years
Zellers Brampton shoppers have a reason to be excited, because the discount retailer is coming back to Shoppers World. A site plan on property owner RioCan’s website shows a Zellers space marked “coming soon.” The original Zellers opened at the mall in 1998 and closed in 2012. Now, the new store will take over the former Ardenes space across from guest services. However, there is no opening date yet, so shoppers will need to wait for more details.

A Look Back at Zellers at Shoppers World
Zellers first opened at Shoppers World in 1998, replacing Kmart. It then served the community for 14 years before closing in 2012. At the time, Hudson’s Bay Company wound down Zellers across Canada to make way for Target. However, Target never opened in the former Zellers space at the mall.
What Is Zellers 3.0?
Zellers is now owned by Les Ailes de la Mode Inc., which calls its new lineup of stores “Zellers 3.0.” These stores are smaller than the original locations from the 1990s. In fact, the Brampton store will take up much less space than the old one. Right now, there are only three other Zellers stores open in Canada, including one in Toronto.
