The free activation gives families a chance to try the new 2026 Barbie DreamHouse before adding it to their own wish lists.

Visitors can expect:

  • Hands-on play with the new Barbie DreamHouse
  • Interactive creative activities
  • A Barbie is Moving truck photo opportunity
  • A chance to win a Barbie DreamHouse Playset

The event runs Saturday, September 19, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., followed by Sunday, September 20, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Find the activation at Entrance E, Yorkdale Shopping Centre, 3401 Dufferin St., North York, ON M6A 2T9. Mattel’s public event listing confirms the same address and schedule.

Is the Barbie Yorkdale Pop-Up Free?

Yes. Admission is free, and visitors can RSVP ahead of time.

However, an RSVP should not be treated as a reserved time slot. Mattel says guests will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis, with queues used during busier periods.

That makes arriving earlier a good idea, especially if you are planning to visit during peak weekend hours.

Check Mattel’s official Barbie is Moving event page before leaving for any last-minute updates.

What’s New About the 2026 Barbie DreamHouse?

The activation celebrates what Mattel describes as its first-ever modular Barbie DreamHouse. Instead of one fixed structure, the new version has two house sections that can be rearranged and connected in different ways.

The playset includes:

  • 2 house structures
  • 2 pools
  • 2 movable slides
  • 65+ storytelling pieces
  • 9 indoor and outdoor play areas
  • A working wheelchair-accessible elevator
  • Interchangeable swings and window frames
  • Kitchen and bathroom sound features

The two house structures can form one larger home or connect using a bridge. The slides and pools can also move between configurations, giving kids more ways to change the layout during play.

Mattel lists the playset for ages three and up. Assembly is required, and the product includes a small-parts choking-hazard warning for children under three.

What Families Should Know Before Going

Guests of all ages are welcome, according to information provided by Mattel, although hands-on DreamHouse play is recommended for children ages three and older.

Since entry is first come, first served, families visiting during the afternoon may want to leave extra time in case a queue forms.

If you are coming by TTC, Yorkdale is easily reached from Yorkdale Station on Line 1, making transit worth considering during a busy shopping weekend. If you are driving, check Yorkdale’s current parking and visitor information before heading over.

One other thing to keep in mind: Mattel confirms there will be a chance to win a Barbie DreamHouse, but its public event page does not currently display detailed contest rules. Check the terms provided at the activation before entering.
