Oatly Turns Ossington Avenue Green With a Matcha-Themed Pop-Up
Toronto will see a bright green takeover this September as Oatly brings its new ready-to-drink Matcha to life with a free pop-up experience.
The Oatly Matcha-tality Suite will welcome the public for two days at Ossington Avenue, offering drinks, food, music, beauty treatments, and plenty of photo moments.
With Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) just around the corner, the timing gives Toronto another playful activation to check out while the city fills up with visitors and entertainment.

Step Into the Matcha-tality Suite
The concept takes inspiration from the world of hotels but gives it an unmistakably Oatly twist. The Matcha-tality Suite will be covered in green, creating a monochrome setting that feels part glamorous hotel, part matcha daydream.
The free pop-up includes several matcha-inspired touches designed to provide visitors the VIP treatment. Here’s what you should know:
- Dates: September 12 (Saturday) and September 13 (Sunday)
- Hours: 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM each day
- Location: 45 Ossington Avenue, Toronto
- Admission: Free and open to the public
- Celebrating: The nationwide launch of Oatly’s ready-to-drink Matcha
Visitors can expect a mix of complimentary treats and matcha-inspired experiences, including:
- Matcha cocktails and mocktails
- Room-service-inspired bites
- Live DJ music
- Matcha-themed manicures
- Souvenir-style photo shoots
- Photo moments throughout the space
- Additional surprises

The DJ setup adds to the hotel fantasy, with Oatly joking that “the lobby playlist simply wasn’t enough.” It is a small detail that captures the lighthearted tone behind the activation.
Oatly’s Green Carpet Moment
The Toronto activation follows a similar immersive experience Oatly recently brought to Berlin. It gave the brand a chance to build a larger world around its products, and the Toronto edition takes the idea in a hotel-inspired direction.
Now, the focus shifts to Oatly’s ready-to-drink Matcha and its Canadian launch. By pairing the beverage with complimentary food, music, beauty treatments, and visual experiences, the brand is bringing Toronto more than a traditional tasting.
The timing could also make it especially appealing for people already planning outings around TIFF season. It is a lighter alternative to packed festival schedules with plenty of photo-worthy moments to capture and share.
