Organized Theft Ring Steals $240K in Alcohol from LCBO

Peel Regional Police have arrested five individuals in connection with an organized theft ring targeting LCBO stores across the Greater Toronto Area. Investigators believe the thefts began in August 2024 and continued until February 2025, leading to the loss of nearly $240,000 in alcohol.

Coordinated Theft Operation

According to police, the group used coordinated tactics to steal liquor from 50 LCBO locations. Multiple suspects would enter stores at once, distract employees, and then gain access to restricted areas. Surveillance images show them carrying liquor in boxes and pushcarts.

Suspects Arrested and Charged

Five individuals have been arrested and charged with theft over $5,000:

  • Anuj Kumar, 25
  • Simarpeet Singh, 29
  • Sharndeep Singh, 25 (also charged with breach of release order)
  • Simranjeet Singh, 24 (also charged with break-and-enter with intent to commit an indictable offense)
  • Prabhpreet Singh, 29 (also charged with conspiracy to commit an indictable offense)

All five are in custody awaiting bail hearings in Brampton court.

Two Suspects Still at Large

Police are still searching for Jagshir Singh, 28, and Punit Sehjra, 25. Both are wanted for theft over $5,000 and break-and-enter with intent to commit an indictable offense.

Police Statement and Investigation

Deputy Chief Marc Andrews praised the efforts of the Criminal Investigation Bureau, stating: “By arresting and charging multiple individuals, we are sending a strong message that those who target our communities will be held accountable.”
