Canadian Parents to Receive Canada Child Benefit (CCB) Payment of 2025
Eligible Canadian parents can expect the first Canada Child Benefit (CCB) payment of 2025 on Monday, January 20. The CCB benefit year starts every July, with payments adjusted annually to reflect rising living costs. The 2024 benefit year, which began in July, introduced a 4.7% increase, providing families with more financial support.

How Much You Can Receive
Since 2018, the government has indexed CCB amounts to match inflation. According to the Consumer Price Index (CPI), both maximum benefit amounts and income thresholds increase annually. This ensures ongoing support as living expenses rise.
In 2024, the maximum benefit for children under six rose by $350, from $7,437 to $7,787 annually. For children aged six to 17, the benefit increased by $295, from $6,275 to $6,570.
Looking ahead, the 2025 benefit year will see a 2.7% increase:
- Children under six: $7,997 annually ($666 monthly).
- Children aged six to 17: $6,748 annually ($562 monthly).
- Child Disability Benefit (CDB): $3,411 annually, up from $3,322.
These payments are tax-free, offering direct financial relief to families.
