Second Suspect Arrested in $70,000 Taylor Swift Ticket Scam: More Charges Announced
Toronto police have arrested a second suspect and filed additional charges in connection to a Taylor Swift ticket scam. The fraudulent scheme, involving tickets for The Eras Tour at Toronto’s Rogers Centre, has cost victims nearly $70,000.

Details of the Alleged Scheme
Authorities allege a Burlington woman, 44, used the alias “Denise Blackhawk” on Facebook Marketplace to sell fake tickets. Victims reported paying via e-transfer after agreeing to prices for specific concert dates and seat locations. The accused claimed tickets would be transferred shortly before the concert dates.
The affected concerts took place across six dates in November 2024: Nov. 14, 15, 16, 22, 23, and 24. However, victims discovered on the day of their events that the tickets were never transferred. When buyers sought refunds, the accused claimed the money was no longer available.
Arrests and Charges
The woman was first arrested on Nov. 25, 2024, facing:
- 32 counts of fraud under $5,000
- 32 counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
- 1 count each of fraud and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
On Jan. 15, 2025, police announced eight additional charges for each of fraud and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
