July 2025 Payments: What to Expect from Canada Workers & Disability Benefits
Canadians can expect larger payouts in July 2025, with an increase to key government benefits aimed at supporting low-income individuals and families. These July 2025 payments include both the Advanced Canada Workers Benefit (ACWB) and the newly launched Canada Disability Benefit (CDB). Find out how these benefits will impact your finances this summer and what steps you need to take to ensure you receive your payments.

What is the ACWB?
The ACWB is an advanced version of the Canada Workers Benefit (CWB), a refundable tax credit aimed at helping Canadians with lower earnings. It provides advanced payments of up to 50% of the CWB amount, distributed automatically in three payments throughout the year.
In July, eligible Canadians will receive an increased amount due to indexation. Several benefits are increasing by 2.7%, which means more money in the pockets of those who qualify.
How Much Will You Receive?
- Single individuals can receive up to $1,633, an increase from $1,590.
- Families are eligible for up to $2,813, up from $2,739.
- The disability supplement has also increased to $843, up from $821.
These advanced payments are based on your income level and are automatically determined by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) when you file your tax return. No application is necessary, but you must meet the following criteria:
- Be 19 years or older (or live with a spouse/partner or child).
- Be a Canadian resident for the full year.
- Earn less than the net income limit set for your province or territory.
Eligible Canadians will receive their next ACWB payment on Friday, July 11, as the usual payment date of July 12 falls on a Saturday.

New Canada Disability Benefit Launching in July
Alongside the ACWB increase, Canadians can also look forward to a new financial support program: the Canada Disability Benefit (CDB). This permanent monthly benefit is available for Canadians between 18 and 64 years of age who qualify for the Disability Tax Credit (DTC).
Starting July 2025, eligible individuals can receive up to $200 per month, depending on income levels. Single individuals earning less than $23,000 annually can receive the full amount, with the benefit tapering off for higher incomes, phasing out entirely at $45,000.
Applications for the CDB opened on June 20, and individuals who apply by June 30 can expect their first payment in July. Applications can be submitted online, in person, or by phone.
Key Eligibility for the CDB:
- Between 18 and 64 years of age.
- Approved for the Disability Tax Credit.
- Canadian residents for tax purposes.
Over 600,000 Canadians are expected to benefit from this new payment, marking a significant improvement in support for working-age individuals with disabilities.
