Tastes of South East Asia Festival 2026 Brings Southeast Asian Food, Culture, and Community to North York
Toronto’s Tastes of South East Asia (TOSEA) Community Festival returns to Mel Lastman Square on August 7–8, 2026, bringing together Southeast Asian communities through food, performances, arts, and cultural programming.
The festival marks its 5th anniversary this year. It will feature cuisine, entertainment, traditional arts, and activities representing more than 22 Southeast Asian communities.
Organized by the Better Futures For Kids Foundation in partnership with the South East Asia Centre of Cultures Association, TOSEA highlights Southeast Asian heritage while supporting important community initiatives. The festival also raises awareness about human trafficking and child exploitation, while supporting vulnerable women and children.
A Two-Day Celebration of Southeast Asian Culture
TOSEA transforms Mel Lastman Square into a space where visitors can connect with Southeast Asian cultures through different forms of programming.
Throughout the weekend, guests can enjoy:
- Authentic Southeast Asian food vendors
- Cultural performances and live music
- Traditional arts and crafts
- Artisan vendors
- Community organization booths
- Interactive activities for visitors of all ages
In addition, the festival provides a platform for local businesses, artists, and community groups to share their work with Toronto audiences.

Lotus Lantern Ceremony Highlights Saturday Night
A key program feature this year is the Lotus Lantern Ceremony, taking place on:

During the ceremony, hundreds of participants will join a lantern parade representing hope, remembrance, and support for victims and survivors of human trafficking.
The program connects cultural expression with TOSEA’s broader mission of raising awareness and encouraging community support.

Beyond food and entertainment, TOSEA focuses on building connections between communities while sharing Southeast Asian heritage with a wider audience.
Through partnerships, cultural programming, and social awareness initiatives, the festival continues to support the work of the Better Futures For Kids Foundation.
