Cabbagetown Festival Returns With Its Largest Street Festival Yet This September
Toronto’s Cabbagetown Festival is returning this September with its largest layout to date.
The 47th annual street festival will take place on Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13, bringing two days of food, shopping, music, local vendors, kids’ activities, and community programming to Cabbagetown.
This year, the free event will expand across Parliament Street from Gerrard Street to Wellesley Street and Carlton Street from Parliament Street to Sherbourne Street.
More than 125,000 visitors are expected throughout the weekend.

Toronto’s Long-Running Street Festival Expands for 2026
Founded in 1976, the Cabbagetown Festival has grown into one of Toronto’s longest-running street festivals.

For 2026, the Cabbagetown BIA is expanding the festival footprint and adding more programming across the neighbourhood.
The event will include 250+ vendors, 200+ local performers, food trucks, pop-up patios, outdoor games, street performers, interactive installations, and a free Kids Zone.
In addition, the festival will introduce a new EDM DJ stage and a new Rainbow Market featuring 2SLGBTQI+ businesses, makers, and vendors.
More Than 250 Vendors and Local Makers
This year’s vendor lineup will focus heavily on local and Canadian-made goods.

More than 85 vendors are Cabbagetown businesses. Also, 65 per cent of all vendors are handmade-in-Canada businesses.
Visitors can shop from artisans, independent brands, makers, and local retailers across the festival route.
Participating shops and makers include The Great Hall Bookshop, Artisan MRKT, Kendall & Co., Hilary MacMillan, FTJCo Jewellery, The Beastiary Petshop, Cycle Solutions, Parliament Furniture, Green’s Antiques, Sue Succulents, Keepsake Studio, BeesButter Canada, Lisa Maxwell Jewelry, RUCKUSdog, Maguu, Wonderlust & Co., Biophilia Vintage, and more.
Food Trucks, Restaurants, and Extended Patios
The Cabbagetown Festival will also bring a large food and drink lineup to the neighbourhood.

Festival visitors can expect eats from vendors and local spots such as Bluet Bakery, Butter Chicken Factory, Daniel et Daniel Catering, Falcha Fusion, La Gloria Mexican Coffee, St. Jamestown Steak & Chops, Maya Bay Thai, Mikaku Udon Bar, Momo Ghar, Parliament Ice Cream Shoppe, Pow Pow Gelato, Rayah Café, Super Churros, Liko’s Hawaiian BBQ, Tornado Fries, Pierogi Me!, WuBaEats, and Mango Bubbles.
Meanwhile, several neighbourhood restaurants will offer extended patios and food or drink specials during the weekend.
Participating spots include House of Parliament, Super Bargain, Kingyo Fisherman’s Market, Merkato, Saigon Pai, Salt & Tobacco, Wing Machine, Tender Trap, Stout Irish Pub, Wing House & Sports Bar, Golden Pigeon Beerhall, and Zakkushi.
EDM Stage, Rainbow Market, and Live Entertainment

The 2026 festival will feature more live programming than previous years, with 200+ performers from Toronto and Ontario.
The entertainment lineup includes DJs, blues and rock bands, street performers, stilt walkers, drag performers, interactive dancers, and brass bands.
New this year, the dedicated EDM DJ stage will give electronic music fans a separate area for live DJ sets.
The festival will also include an Indigenous stage highlighting Indigenous talent.
At the same time, the new Rainbow Market will spotlight 2SLGBTQI+ vendors, businesses, and makers.
Featured performers include DJ Mike, Lox Rutz, Shout!, DJ Andre, Danny Marks, Skaface, Kendra Gabrielle, TDot Batu, Heavyweights Brass Band, Eugene Draw, Lilydipper, Whispr, The Regimentals, Hands on Exotics, Jenny Kaye, Sofonda, Shari Tallon, and more.
Free Kids Zone on Carlton Street

Families can visit the Kids Zone on Carlton Street throughout the weekend.
The area will include a kids’ stage, live music, magic acts, bouncy castles, craft tables, bubbles, games, drag storytime, face painters, and more.
All Kids Zone activities are free.
Opening Ceremonies and Closing Parade

The festival will begin with Opening Ceremonies at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 12.
The ceremony will include community representatives, elected officials, and the annual cabbage cutting.
Then, on Sunday, September 13 at 6:20 p.m., the Closing Parade will move along Parliament Street. Attendees can join the parade and dance along to live music as the weekend wraps up.

The Cabbagetown Festival will take place during a busy weekend for the neighbourhood.

Road Closures

Festival streets will close to traffic on Saturday, September 12 at 6 a.m.
They will reopen on Sunday, September 13 at 11 p.m.
Drivers should plan ahead and expect closures around Parliament Street and Carlton Street during the festival weekend.
