A Burlington shooting outside the Mandarin restaurant on April 29 has left one man dead and the community shaken. Shooting Took Place Around Dinner Time

Emergency crews responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m. and found a man with gunshot wounds. They brought him to a nearby hospital, but he died shortly after from his injuries.

Police say the shooting was a “targeted incident” and that there is no known threat to public safety at this time.

Witnesses Report Shooter Fled in Black Mercedes

Investigators are now asking the public for help. According to a freelance reporter on the scene, a witness saw the suspect flee in a black Mercedes.

Police spotted a damaged black pickup truck with a smashed back window in the parking lot and took it in for forensic testing.

Although the investigation remains active, officers have not made any arrests or released suspect descriptions.

Community Rattled by Violence in Busy Area

The shooting has stirred deep concern among Burlington residents. Families often fill The Mandarin on Fairview Street, a well-known restaurant, especially on weeknights.

This is the second homicide investigation in the region this year, a stark reminder that violence can strike even in seemingly safe places.

Police Request Dash Cam and Surveillance Footage

To aid the investigation, Halton Police are asking anyone with dash cam footage from Fairview Street and Brant Street between 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on April 29 to come forward.

They are especially interested in footage from residential or business cameras in the area during those hours.
