Tips for Attending a Candlelight Concert in Toronto

If it’s your first time at a candlelight concert, here are a few quick things to know before you go — they’ll make the night smoother (and a lot more enjoyable).

  1. Book your tickets early. Tickets sell fast, and everything happens through the Fever app or website — you can’t buy them at the door.
  2. Arrive early. Doors open usually 20–30 minutes before showtime, and seating is first-come within your zone. Latecomers aren’t allowed in once the music starts, so plan to be there on time.
  3. Leave the flash at home. Photos and videos are only allowed during the final piece, and flash is a no-go. You’ll want to stay in the moment anyway — the lighting and atmosphere do most of the work.
  4. Know your venue. Most Toronto concerts happen at Paradise Theatre, Metropolitan Community Church, The Royal Theatre, or Toronto Reference Library. Paradise Theatre has a bar and café, plus a restaurant (Osteria Rialto) next door if you want to make a night of it.
  5. Accessibility and comfort count. Venues like Paradise Theatre are barrier-free and have accessible seating in Zone C — just email ahead to reserve. Free street and paid parking are nearby, but arriving early helps with both.
  6. Keep your phone quiet. Phones must stay on silent during the show. It’s a small thing, but it keeps the experience peaceful for everyone, especially the musicians.
