iPhone 17 Series Launch: Prices, Specs, and Global Release Details Revealed

Apple is preparing to shake up its iPhone lineup with the launch of the iPhone 17 series, expected in September 2025. This year’s release will include four models—iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max—marking the end of the “Plus” variant.

Instead, Apple is introducing the iPhone 17 Air, a new slimline model aimed at design-conscious users.

iPhone 17 Air: Apple’s Thinnest iPhone Yet

The standout design change comes with the iPhone 17 Air, which could become Apple’s slimmest iPhone ever. Reports suggest a thickness of just 5mm to 6.25mm, paired with a 6.6-inch display. This places it between the standard and Pro Max models in size.

The Pro and Pro Max models are also expected to get a design refresh, replacing the titanium frame with a durable aluminum-glass hybrid back. Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 17 will retain a similar look, with the possible addition of a scratch-resistant, anti-reflective display coating.

Upgraded Displays and Camera Designs

In a major shift, Apple is reportedly bringing the 120Hz ProMotion display and Always-On feature to all four models. Previously, these features were limited to Pro versions.

The camera layout is also changing. The iPhone 17 Air will include a minimal single-lens system in an elongated design. The Pro models will have a rectangular aluminum camera housing, designed for durability and a sleeker look.

New Chips and Big RAM Upgrades

Under the hood, the iPhone 17 and 17 Air will run on the new A19 chip, while the 17 Pro and Pro Max will feature the A19 Pro chip, promising faster performance and better efficiency.

RAM is also getting a boost:

Camera Specs: 48MP Across the Lineup

Photography capabilities are also being enhanced. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are expected to include three 48MP cameras (Wide, Ultra-Wide, and Telephoto). Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 and Air will offer a 48MP main sensor and an improved 24MP front-facing camera.

iPhone 17 Pro Max May Feature Apple’s Biggest Battery

The iPhone 17 Pro Max is rumored to include a 5,000mAh battery—the largest ever in an iPhone. That’s a jump from the 4,685mAh battery in the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

If paired with Apple’s efficient hardware and software, this could push battery life to 35 hours or more. While Android phones already use 5,000mAh batteries, Apple’s optimization could make this one of the longest-lasting iPhones yet.

Still, actual battery life will depend on how Apple balances the larger battery with new power-hungry features like vapor chamber cooling or display enhancements.

Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 17 lineup between September 11–13, 2025. Predicted retail prices are as follows:
