Mississauga Hong Kong Festival 2026 Returns With Expanded Food, Culture, Sports, and Entertainment Programs
The Mississauga Hong Kong Festival 2026 will return on August 15–16, 2026, bringing two days of Hong Kong culture, food, sports, performances, and community programming to Mississauga.
Following a successful first edition that welcomed more than 40,000 visitors, the festival will once again take place at the Mississauga Sports and Entertainment Centre Sportsplex. Organized by the World Kongers Organization and supported by the City of Mississauga, the event continues to provide a platform for Hong Kong-Canadian businesses, artists, and community groups.
Food Market Features Hong Kong Favourites and Asian Street Food
Food will be one of the main attractions at this year’s festival, with more than 50 vendor stalls and nearly 20 food booths.
Visitors can enjoy popular Hong Kong dishes, including:
- Curry fish balls
- Siu mai
- Egg waffles
- Hong Kong desserts
- Street food from across Asia
The food area will also feature local vendors selling handmade products, accessories, decorations, and cultural items.
Guests can also participate in a Hong Kong neon sign workshop, create their own souvenirs, enjoy face painting, and receive giveaways from festival sponsors.

New Film Zone Showcases Hong Kong Stories
The 2026 festival introduces a new Film Zone, offering visitors an indoor screening area.
The program will feature the Hong Kong documentary Four Trails, which follows Hong Kong’s mountain and countryside landscapes. The screening will also include selected works from Canadian creators.

Historical Exhibition Highlights Hong Kong-Canada Connections
The Richard Charles Lee Canada-Hong Kong Library at the University of Toronto will present a historical exhibition featuring archival materials and vintage photographs.
The exhibition will highlight the long connection between Hong Kong and Canada through documents, records, and community history.
A featured section, “The Battle of Hong Kong 1941–1945,” will focus on the role of Canadian soldiers who served in Hong Kong during the Second World War.
Kids Zone Brings Games and Activities to the Festival
A new Kids Zone will offer activities for younger visitors, including:
- Giant inflatable bouncy castles
- Oversized floor chess
- Basketball and football arcade games
- Claw machines
- Carnival-style activities
The festival stage will also feature nearly 20 performance groups, with live bands, Cantonese pop performances, dance shows, and interactive workshops scheduled throughout the weekend.
World Kong Cup Expands With Soccer and Basketball Tournaments
Sports will remain a major part of the festival with the return of the World Kong Cup.
The soccer tournament will feature a 7-a-side format with divisions including:
- Open Elite
- Open Recreation
- 60+
- 45+
- 35+ COED
The Open Elite champion will receive a CAD $2,000 cash prize, while other divisions will receive trophies.
This year also introduces a basketball tournament with:
- 5-on-5 full-court matches
- 3-on-3 half-court matches
Teams travelling from outside the GTA can receive complimentary hotel stays, bringing participants from different cities and regions.
