Spotify Just Made Getting Concert Tickets Way Easier for Toronto Superfans

·

Say goodbye to the endless ticket queue of doom. Spotify just dropped a game-changing feature that promises to save you from scalpers and bots. It’s called “Reserved,” and it’s about to change how Torontonians score seats to their favourite shows.

The streaming giant announced the new feature at its 2026 Investor Day on Thursday, May 21. The program aims to reward an artist’s most dedicated fans by holding two tour tickets for them before the chaotic general sale begins.

How Spotify’s “Reserved” Actually Works

If you’re tired of battling for seats at the Scotiabank Arena or Budweiser Stage, this is for you. According to Spotify’s official announcement, the platform will identify superfans based on streaming habits, shares, and overall engagement.

Here is what you need to know to get on the list:

  • You must be a Spotify Premium subscriber aged 18 or older.
  • The system uses your location data, so ensure your preferred location is set and notifications are turned on in the Live Events Feed.
  • Spotify actively monitors accounts to filter out bots, ensuring actual humans get the tickets.

If chosen, you’ll receive an email and an in-app notification with a dedicated window—usually around 24 hours—to purchase up to two tickets.

Zero Added Fees from Spotify

The best part? Spotify isn’t tacking on extra fees. Once you get your exclusive offer, you simply complete the purchase on a ticketing partner’s platform. You even get to choose your date, venue, and seats during checkout.

According to USA Today, the feature is rolling out this summer starting in the U.S., with Live Nation acting as the launch partner. While there’s no official date for a Canadian launch just yet, Spotify promises more markets will follow soon.

Since superfans will outnumber available seats, not everyone will get an offer. Still, it’s a massive step toward keeping tickets out of the hands of scalpers.
