You won’t need an RSVP card from a distant cousin for this wedding. Secret City Adventures has brought The Wedding Party back to Old Mill Toronto. Dinner comes with live actors, clues and a mystery unfolding around the room.
The 2.5-hour dinner theatre show puts guests inside a fictional wedding reception. The action does not stay on a stage. Six performers move through the room while guests work through puzzles and hidden messages with their table. Admission includes an all-you-can-eat buffet. The night sits somewhere between dinner theatre, a team game and a wedding reception that has gone slightly off script.

The story starts with an invitation from an old friend named Norah, the bride. Once guests arrive, they meet members of the wedding party and begin picking up clues tied to a larger mystery.
This is not a sit-and-watch show. Guests speak with characters, search for information and work with their table as the story develops. Secret City lists six live actors. Guests play in teams of up to six, with room for up to 96 people per show.
That setup makes the night a practical option for couples, friend groups and small celebrations. It also means solo guests and pairs should expect to share a table with other players. Groups that want the table to themselves can book all six seats together.
Dinner is part of the ticket
The ticket includes the Old Mill Toronto buffet. The current menu format lists soup, starters, hot and cold stations, and desserts.
The venue also lists vegan, nut-free, dairy-free and gluten-free options. Guests with allergies should contact the venue before their date. Old Mill Toronto notes that its kitchen is not allergen-free and cannot handle same-day allergy requests.

October has several dates on the calendar
The original media invitation highlighted September dates, but the show is continuing into the fall. Old Mill Toronto currently lists several October performances, followed by more dates in November and December.
October dates currently listed are October 1, 2, 4, 8, 15, 16, 18, 22, 23, 25, 29, 30 and 31. Start times vary by date, with most shows beginning at either 6 p.m. or 7 p.m.
