Get ready for a groundbreaking celebration this Lunar New Year in Toronto! The inaugural Toronto Spring Festival is happening on Saturday, January 25, at Nathan Phillips Square. This all-day event will include cultural performances, food, family-friendly activities, and the city’s first-ever Lunar New Year fireworks show.

  • Ice Skating Shows – Watch two spectacular performances by the University of Toronto Skating Club at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

  • Food Trucks – Enjoy tasty eats from Chinese and international cuisines.

Fireworks Show: A Historic First

The highlight of the day will be the fireworks show, starting at 10 p.m. behind City Hall. In Chinese culture, fireworks symbolize renewal and prosperity. For the first time, this tradition will light up Toronto’s sky, accompanied by music, including the classic Chinese melody “Golden Snake Dance.”
