The wait is over for downtown Toronto foodies. Bestco Fresh Foods, a popular Greater Toronto Area grocery chain, opens its doors today, August 19, in the city’s core. The new location at 102 Peter St. is being promoted as an Asian snack food haven.

The grand opening kicked off at 10 a.m. with a lineup of shoppers eager to see the new store and take advantage of special promotions.

Toronto’s Biggest Ramen Wall and Viral Finds

A main attraction of the new store is a feature billed as Toronto’s biggest ramen wall, offering a massive selection of instant noodles.

Beyond that, shoppers can find a wide range of products, with many items air-shipped directly from Asia. The selection includes viral snacks made popular on TikTok, sought-after Jellycat plushies, and collectible Labubu figures. The store also stocks lifestyle goods, ready-to-eat meals, and exclusive local brands alongside its grocery offerings.

A GTA Success Story Comes Downtown

Bestco Fresh Foods is not new to the grocery scene in the 6ix. The company has been operating since 2009, when it opened its first location in Etobicoke to serve one of the area’s oldest Chinese immigrant communities.

Since then, it has expanded with locations in Scarborough and the Whitby-Ajax area. The new Peter Street store marks its first major step into the downtown Toronto market.
