One of Toronto’s Best Rooftop Patios Just Got a Major Makeover

· · · ·

The Drake Hotel rooftop patio is back for summer with a whole new look. Sky Yard has officially reopened for the season after a major renovation, bringing a desert-inspired vibe, a new menu and plenty of reasons to spend golden hour above Queen West.

The popular rooftop has been a Toronto summer staple for years. However, this time around, it’s not just reopening for patio season — it got a full refresh.

The Drake Hotel Rooftop Patio Has a New Look

Sky Yard has traded its old setup for a newly renovated, desert-inspired space above Queen Street West.

The new design leans into warm, laid-back summer energy, giving the rooftop a fresh feel without losing the atmosphere that made it popular in the first place.

Basically, if Sky Yard was already in your summer rotation, it might be time for another visit.

There’s a New Menu Too

The makeover goes beyond the space itself. Sky Yard is now serving a menu built around its charcoal grill, with sharing plates designed for long afternoons and evenings on the rooftop.

Expect a mix of grilled meats, fresh raw dishes, ceviches, aguachiles and veggie-forward sides. Meanwhile, the cocktail menu puts tequila and rum front and centre, along with low-alcohol and zero-proof options.

Weekend Brunch Is Back on the Rooftop

If dinner and drinks aren’t your thing, Sky Yard is also open for weekend brunch.

That means you can head up during the day for a more relaxed rooftop hang before the evening crowd rolls in. Plus, the patio plans to host monthly guest chef BBQ takeovers throughout the season.

Expect DJs and Late-Night Rooftop Vibes

As the sun goes down, Sky Yard shifts from daytime patio to nighttime hangout.

DJ sets are part of the rooftop experience, so you can stay for drinks after dinner instead of immediately looking for your next stop.

Honestly, golden hour turning into a rooftop night out is kind of the whole point here.
