Freezing Rain Brings Down Trees, Power Lines

Hydro One reported widespread outages as heavy ice accumulation weighed down tree branches and electrical lines. In its public advisory on X, the utility urged residents to stay clear of downed power lines and reassured the public that crews are working quickly and safely to restore service.

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued freezing rain warnings for large parts of the province, with up to 25 millimetres of ice expected by the end of the storm system on Sunday.
