GO Transit Adds More Bus and Train Trips for Back-to-School Commuters

Metrolinx is increasing GO Transit service to help with the back-to-school rush. The changes will add more options for students and commuters across Ontario. Most of the new trip additions and service updates will begin on Saturday, August 30, 2025. These changes include new express bus routes and increased weekday train service.

More Express GO Bus Routes for Students

GO Transit is adding several express bus trips, with a focus on routes serving post-secondary schools.

The updated routes include:

• Route 15A: McMaster/Burlington
• Route 25A: Waterloo/Mississauga express via Milton
• Route 25C: Waterloo/Mississauga express
• Route 30A: Waterloo/Bramalea express via Kitchener
• Route 30E: Waterloo/Bramalea express
• Route 31M: Brampton/U of Guelph
• Route 41A: Square One/Pickering express
• Route 41C: Square One/Centennial College express
• Route 47D/47G: Hwy 407/Erin Mills Transitway to McMaster
• Route 56B: Oakville/Hwy 407 via Sheridan College
• Route 88C: Peterborough/Oshawa Express (Friday only)

Two new routes are also being introduced:

• New Route 41F: Square One/U of T Scarborough
• New Route 47A: Square One/Hamilton Centre express

Additionally, Route 52A will get a new stop at Durham College Oshawa GO and Simcoe Street at Athol Street.

GO Train Service Updates

The Stouffville GO line will see increased weekday service. A new 3:30 p.m. train now departs Union Station, making all stops to Unionville GO. A 5:40 p.m. train also departs Unionville GO, making all stops to Union Station.

Starting Tuesday, September 2, riders should expect small schedule adjustments of up to three minutes on several lines. Trains on the Lakeshore West, Kitchener, Stouffville, and Richmond Hill lines may depart a few minutes earlier or later.

Seasonal Service Wraps Up

The last day for seasonal GO Bus service to Canada’s Wonderland and the Toronto Zoo is Sunday, August 24.

Service on Route 17B between the University of Waterloo and Burlington GO will also end for the season on August 24.
