Beatrice Deer to host Mina Nowewinan, with William Prince and Elisapie, at The Carlu Nov. 26
One of the strongest Indigenous music lineups of the year is coming to The Carlu this month. Mina Nowewinan, a concert and celebration from the International Indigenous Music Summit, takes over the downtown venue on Thursday, November 26.

Inuk artist Beatrice Deer has just been named host. She joins a bill led by William Prince and Elisapie, with Siibii, Brianna Lizotte and the drum group Bear Creek also performing.
Mina Nowewinan means “good sounds” in Anishinaabemowin, and the name fits. Here is who is playing and how to get tickets.

Beatrice Deer hosts the night
Beatrice Deer is an Inuk artist from Nunavik who now lives in Montreal. Music is only one part of her work. She is also a recording artist, actor, podcaster and fashion designer.
As host, she will guide the audience through the evening and introduce each act.
William Prince and Elisapie lead the lineup
Headliner William Prince is a two-time JUNO Award winner from Peguis First Nation. His songwriting has made him one of the most respected folk and country voices in Canada, and his fifth album is Further From the Country.
Elisapie is an Inuk singer-songwriter from Salluit, Nunavik. Her album Inuktitut landed on the Polaris Music Prize shortlist, and her live shows are known for their emotional pull.
Siibii, Brianna Lizotte and Bear Creek round out the bill
Montreal-based pop artist Siibii brings a newer sound to the night. The organizers describe Siibii as a pop powerhouse in the making, and the artist has already picked up a SOCAN award.
Brianna Lizotte is a JUNO-nominated Métis fiddler from Edmonton. She has played the 2025 JUNOs Honouring Ceremony and the Edmonton Folk Festival.
Bear Creek, an Anishinaabe drum group from Batchewana First Nation in Ontario, completes the lineup. The group won Traditional Indigenous Artist or Group of the Year at the 2026 JUNO Awards, its first JUNO after nearly three decades of singing together.
