Old Enough! Season 3 Takes Young Canadians on Bigger Adventures Across Ontario
Young Canadians are getting another chance to take on the world on their own as Old Enough! heads into its third season.
The award-winning TVOkids Original from Blue Ant Studios and TVO Media Education Group premieres Sunday, September 27, bringing new errands, new cities, and plenty of small but memorable moments.
The six-episode season will air at 6:30 PM (ET) on TVO. Viewers can also watch through the TVOkids and TVO Docs YouTube channels at 11:00 AM (ET).
Based on the well-known Japanese format, the series follows Canadian children as they complete their first real-world errands without their parents beside them.
Each mission gives the young participants a chance to make choices, solve small problems, and discover what they can do for themselves.
Season 3 Goes Beyond Toronto
This time, the series is expanding its reach across Ontario. While previous adventures have included bustling parts of downtown Toronto, the latest episodes will also visit communities across the province.
Children featured in the new season will take on everyday tasks in:
- Cambridge
- Brantford
- Burlington
- Hamilton
- Port Colborne
- Thornhill
- Windsor
“Season 3 gives more Ontario children the chance to see themselves and their communities represented on screen,” said Kirsten Hurd, Commissioning Editor for TVOkids.
The show has already made a strong mark with families. Its earlier seasons attracted millions of views through clips shared on TikTok, turning its young participants into an online hit.
A Winning Series Gets Another Chapter
Old Enough! enters its third season after a successful run at the 2026 Canadian Screen Awards. The series picked up two awards: Best Children’s Non-Fiction Series and Best Picture Editing, Children’s or Youth.
For Blue Ant Studios, the recognition also reflects the show’s central idea: children can accomplish more than adults may expect.
“Old Enough! is a very special show that teaches all of us just how capable young kids can be,” said Matt Hornburg, Executive Producer and Chief Content Officer at Blue Ant Studios.
The production company is continuing its partnership with TVO and Nippon TV, which owns the original Japanese format.
Colin Mochrie Returns Behind the Scenes
Canadian comedy and improv favourite Colin Mochrie is back as the narrator. Known for Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Mochrie will once again guide viewers through the children’s successes, surprises and tougher moments.
His work on the first two seasons earned Canadian Screen Award nominations, making his return a familiar part of the show’s charm.
Tom Miyauchi, Executive Producer and Head of the Nippon TV LA Business Office, said the Canadian adaptation has captured the “heart and spirit” of the original series.
Meet the Creative Team
Blue Ant Studios produces Old Enough! with TVO and Nippon TV. Matthew Hornburg, Mark Bishop, and Donna Luke serve as Executive Producers, while Carly Spencer is Executive Producer and Showrunner.
For TVO, Natasha Negrea is Head of Programming, Kirsten Hurd is Commissioning Editor for TVOkids, and Alexandra Roberts is Commissioning Editor for TVO Docs.
Nippon TV’s Executive Producers are Naoko Yano and Tom Miyauchi. Kiyotaka Tokunaga serves as Chief Director, with Ayaka Isshiki as Producer for the Japanese series. Akihiko Harazono and Fusako Nagashima are Format Producers.
The series was produced with the participation of the Canada Media Fund.
Families can catch the new season starting September 27, with both television and YouTube viewing options. With more Ontario locations and another round of first-time adventures, Old Enough! is giving its youngest stars an even bigger space to show what independence can look like.
