Opal Suchata Chuangsri of Thailand Crowned Miss World 2025
Thailand is celebrating a major international win as Opal Suchata Chuangsri has officially been crowned Miss World 2025. The coronation took place during a star-studded finale in Hyderabad, India on May 31, 2025, marking the 72nd edition of the prestigious global pageant.
A New Reign Begins
Opal received the crown from her predecessor, Krystyna Pyszkova of the Czech Republic, in a moving ceremony that highlighted beauty, compassion, and purpose. She rose above 108 contestants from around the world, with Hasset Dereje Admassu of Ethiopia named first runner-up.
The event was co-hosted by Miss World 2016 Stephanie del Valle and Indian presenter Sachiin Kumbhar, continuing India’s role as host for the second year in a row.
More Than a Crown: A Message of Hope
Opal’s final look on stage was more than just fashion—it was a statement of empowerment. Her white gown, adorned with opal-inspired florals and shimmering Swarovski crystals, was designed to represent strength, healing, and the ripple effect of compassion.
“Just like the opal, I shine in my own light,” Opal wrote on Instagram after the event.

She also shared that the gown paid tribute to her platform “Opal For HER,” a message centered on hope, transformation, and resilience for women worldwide.
India’s Journey Ends in Final 20
India’s own Nandini Gupta, who had previously won Femina Miss India World 2023, advanced to the Top 40 and later made it into the Top 20. Despite early momentum and a fast-track spot, she did not reach the final 8.
India has a rich Miss World legacy, with past winners including Aishwarya Rai (1994) and Priyanka Chopra (2000). However, this year’s crown went to Southeast Asia.
A Win for Thailand—and the World
Opal’s victory adds another major title to Thailand’s growing recognition in international pageants. Her win is seen not only as a personal triumph, but as a celebration of women’s inner light and strength.
