Subway Canada Launches Fresh for Less Menu With Options Under $5
TORONTO, ON — August 28, 2026 — Finding an affordable lunch in Toronto is about to get a little easier. Subway Canada is launching its first ever Fresh for Less Menu, bringing a selection of breakfast, snack, lunch and side options priced under $5 each to participating restaurants nationwide starting Monday, August 31.
The new Subway Canada Fresh for Less Menu is designed for Canadians looking for freshly prepared food at a price that fits their budget. Rather than focusing on a single value meal, the menu gives guests the flexibility to mix and match different items throughout the day, whether they are grabbing breakfast before work, picking up a midday snack or looking for a quick lunch.
The launch comes as Canadians continue to navigate rising food costs and busy schedules. According to Subway Canada’s inaugural State of Lunch Report, conducted online by The Harris Poll Canada in August 2026, 85% of employed Canadians say it has become harder to find fresh lunch options at a price they feel comfortable paying. The research also found that 59% have skipped lunch during the work week, while 38% have compromised on portion size to save money.
“The newly launched Fresh For Less Menu gives Canadians greater choice and flexibility, with options under $5 that they can mix and match throughout the day,” said Denny Downie, Managing Director and Head of Marketing at Subway Canada. “Our State of Lunch Report found that lunch is an important part of the workday for Canadians, but rising food costs are making it harder to find the freshness and quality they want at a comfortable price.”
What’s on the Fresh for Less Menu?
The Fresh for Less Menu features a mix of new and returning favourites across Snackwiches, breakfast sandwiches, sides and snacks.

New Snackwiches
Served on warm ciabatta bread, the Snackwich lineup includes two new options:
- Hot Honey Pepperoni Pizza Snackwich – A limited time sweet and spicy combination of pepperoni, cheese, marinara and hot honey.
- Turkey Caesar Snackwich – Turkey, lettuce, red onion, cheese and Caesar sauce served on ciabatta.
Guests can also choose from existing Snackwich options including Turkey Ranch, Honey Mustard Ham, BLT and Three Cheese.
Breakfast Ciabatta Sandwiches
For an affordable breakfast on the go, the menu includes customizable Breakfast Ciabatta Sandwiches served on warm ciabatta bread. Options include Sausage & Egg, Bacon & Egg, Cheese & Egg, Sausage & Cheese and Ham & Egg.
Sides and Snacks
The menu also brings together several options for those looking for a smaller bite or something to add to their order. Highlights include the Meatball Marinara Protein Cup, which contains 21 grams of protein, Doritos Sweet Chili Heat Footlong Nachos, Doritos Nacho Cheese Footlong Nachos, Fiesta Beans & Corn Salad, Potato Rings, Soup and Mini Cookies.
The Meatball Marinara Protein Cup is not available in Quebec.
A More Flexible Approach to Affordable Lunch
Subway Canada says the Fresh for Less Menu is intended to give guests more control over how they build their meals. With individual items priced under $5, customers can choose combinations based on their appetite, schedule and budget.
The launch also responds to what Subway Canada describes as the “Lunch Squeeze,” with its research showing that Canadians are increasingly balancing affordability with freshness, quality and convenience when deciding what to eat for lunch. One in four employed Canadians surveyed said they would choose fresher options if lunch became more affordable.
For Toronto diners, the new menu offers another option for an affordable bite during busy workdays, quick errands or mornings on the go.
The Fresh for Less Menu launches August 31 at participating Subway restaurants across Canada. Pricing and availability may vary by location, with additional charges applying to add-ons and delivery orders.
