Wipes and Hand Wash Sold at Sobeys, FreshCo, Amazon Canada Recalled

Multiple wipes and hand wash products have been recalled across Canada, affecting major retailers like Sobeys, FreshCo, and Amazon Canada. Health Canada issued recall notices for several All Clean Natural and Co-op Gold Ultra products between March 18 and 19, 2025.

The affected items include wipes and foaming hand wash, sold in both Ontario and Western Canada. Although the health risk is considered low, consumers are urged to review product details.

Recalled Products and Reasons

Health Canada categorized these recalls as Type III, meaning the products are unlikely to cause adverse health consequences. Still, consumers are advised to stop using the affected items.

1. All Clean Ultra Disinfectant Wipes
  • Issue: May not contain the declared active ingredient (alkyl dimethyl ethylbenzyl ammonium chloride).
  • Scents: Fragrance-Free and Lemon.
  • Recall Date: March 19, 2025.
2. Co-op Gold Ultra Disinfectant Wipes
  • Issue: Missing active ingredient as listed on the label.
  • Scent: Lemon.
  • Recall Date: March 19, 2025.
3. All Clean Natural Antibacterial Foaming Hand Wash
  • Issue: No market authorization in Canada.
  • Scents: Pink Grapefruit, Fresh OJ, North Shore.
  • Recall Date: March 19, 2025.
4. All Clean Natural Sanitizing Wipes
  • Issue: Contains undeclared ingredients (quaternary ammonium compounds and isopropyl alcohol).
  • Recall Date: March 18, 2025.

Where Were the Recalled Items Sold?

The recalled products were available through various retailers, including:

  • Sobeys
  • FreshCo
  • Foodland
  • Safeway
  • IGA
  • Thrifty Foods
  • Voilà (online delivery)
  • Amazon Canada

Retailers have removed affected products from store shelves and warehouses. Sobeys distributed the products in Ontario and Western Canada, the spokesperson confirmed.

“Customer safety continues to be our topmost priority,” the spokesperson said.
