Notable Victim: Aurelio Martínez

Among those killed was Aurelio Martínez, a renowned Honduran musician and former congressman. Martínez was a prominent figure in Garifuna music, blending Afro-Caribbean rhythms with traditional influences. His contributions to Honduran culture and politics made him an influential public figure.

Impact and Recovery Efforts

Rescue teams worked through the night, using small boats and stretchers to evacuate survivors. Videos on social media showed emergency workers retrieving passengers from the crash site. Due to the rocky coastline and surrounding coral reefs, recovering the fuselage and flight recorder remains challenging.
