The park will run from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with most rides and attractions operating. Tricks & Treats will also be part of the holiday schedule, giving families daytime Halloween programming alongside the regular park lineup. Halloween Haunt will not run that day.

For GTA families mapping out the long weekend, the added Monday creates another full park day in Vaughan before the Halloween season wraps in early November.

A first Thanksgiving Monday for the park

Canada’s Wonderland opened in 1981, but Thanksgiving Monday has not previously been part of its operating calendar. The park’s dedicated Thanksgiving page confirms Oct. 12 as its first Thanksgiving Monday opening.

Canada’s Wonderland says most of the park will operate. The announcement says most rides and attractions will be available, so visitors should not assume every ride will run that day.

The Thanksgiving page also points to fall colours, coasters and funnel cake as part of the day’s lineup. The park’s wider fall calendar continues after the holiday, with Tricks & Treats and Halloween Haunt running on select dates through Nov. 1. WinterFest begins later in November.

What Tricks & Treats looks like on Oct. 12

The daytime Halloween program is for younger guests and keeps the scare factor low. On Oct. 12, Canada’s Wonderland says families can find trick-or-treat adventures, live entertainment, costume parties and scare-free mazes in the kids’ areas.

For Thanksgiving Monday specifically, the park’s dedicated event page says Tricks & Treats programming will continue through the 8 p.m. closing time. That gives families more time for the Halloween activities than the standard hours shown on the broader seasonal calendar.

Halloween Haunt is separate from the daytime program and will not operate on Thanksgiving Monday. On its regular fall dates, Haunt begins in the evening. The Oct. 12 schedule keeps the holiday visit focused on rides and family Halloween programming instead.

Monster Perk Days add passholder discounts

Season Passholders and Members visiting on Oct. 12 can also use Monster Perks. The benefit dates are Oct. 12, 15, 22, 29 and Nov. 1.

Current offers include 40% off purchases at The Haunt Boo-tique and The Conjuring Store, 30% off games, and several food discounts. Food offers include 50% off select entrees, buy-one-get-one-free popcorn and pretzels at select bars, and other listed deals. Restrictions and one-use limits apply to several offers.

One timing detail is easy to miss. Early Ride Time on AlpenFury and early access to the Dark Ride maze run from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 15, 22 and 29 only. Those two perks are not part of the Thanksgiving Monday benefits.

Planning your Thanksgiving visit

Canada’s Wonderland is at 1 Canada’s Wonderland Drive in Vaughan. The park opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 12.

The official ticket page shows starting prices and asks guests to select a visit date. Check the Oct. 12 selection before checkout rather than relying on a general starting price. Park admission includes Tricks & Treats, according to Canada’s Wonderland’s current fall information.

Guests with a specific coaster in mind may also want to check the Six Flags app on the day of the visit. The app provides current ride wait times and show schedules. Since the Thanksgiving announcement says most rides will operate, this is the simplest way to check day-of conditions.

The Thanksgiving Monday opening is set for Oct. 12, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Check the official park pages before heading out for any last-minute operating updates.
