The Tim Hortons GWN Dragon Boat Challenge is a celebration of strength, teamwork, and the spirit of competition. This iconic event, held on September 6th-7th, 2025, will bring together over 100 dragon boat crews from across North America to compete in the heart of downtown Toronto. Whether you’re a seasoned paddler or a first-time spectator, the event promises something for everyone—family fun, fierce competition, and plenty of entertainment.

  • Two Days of Intense Racing: With both 200m and 500m races, the event will see paddlers from a variety of divisions compete in a test of stamina and speed. Categories include Mixed, Women’s, Open, BCP, ACP, and Paradragons.
  • Family Fun: The event is family-friendly with an interactive Kids Zone, a live entertainment stage, and a variety of food trucks to satisfy your cravings.
  • Specialty Zones: For those looking for health and wellness, there’s a dedicated Health & Wellness Zone, along with a Beer Garden located near the finish line for those who want to unwind.
  • Charity and Community: The festival proudly hosts the Breast Cancer/All Cancer Paddler Village, supporting the paddling teams that paddle with a purpose.

Schedule of Events

Races will start at 9:00 AM each day, with the final race scheduled for Sunday afternoon. The schedule is subject to change based on the event size and conditions, but you can expect a full day of thrilling competition.
