Bed Bath & Beyond Is Back in Canada as an Online-First Retailer
The familiar home retailer has returned with a Canadian-owned online store, a tighter product assortment and physical locations planned for late 2027.
Bed Bath & Beyond is back in Canada after a three-year absence, but the return does not begin with the warehouse-sized stores shoppers may remember. The new Canadian business launched online first, putting its initial assortment at bedbathandbeyond.ca and treating physical retail as a later phase.
The relaunch is Canadian-owned and operated, with a separate business from the retailer using the same name in the United States. That distinction affects everything from accounts and orders to products and policies, so Canadian shoppers should use the local site rather than assuming U.S. programs carry over.

A Smaller, Curated Product Assortment
At launch, the retailer says it carries around 6,000 products from more than 80 brands. The live Canadian store covers bedding, bath, kitchen, dining, décor, organization, baby products, seasonal items and other home essentials.
Bedding and bath receive the most depth, a practical choice for a name closely associated with towels, sheets and bedroom basics. The wider mix combines established international brands with Canadian names and products from Canadian artisans. Umbra, for example, already has dozens of items listed on the site across bathroom storage, hooks, curtain hardware and household organization.
The number matters because it shows how different this relaunch is from the chain’s former big-box model. Instead of filling large stores immediately, the Canadian team is starting with a controlled catalogue and using the website to establish which categories and brands find an audience.

Canadian Ownership, Separate Policies
The company describes itself as proudly Canadian-owned and operated. Its official About page says the business was built as a modern, digital-first shopping experience for the Canadian market.
An official customer-service notice adds that Bed Bath & Beyond Canada is independent from and unaffiliated with Bed Bath & Beyond in the United States. Canadian accounts, orders, policies, products and services are handled separately.
The relaunch is led by president Carol Deacon, who says the aim is to keep the familiar name while building a retailer suited to current Canadian shopping habits. The public announcement does not address old Canadian coupons, gift cards or registry accounts, so customers should not assume those legacy programs have returned.
Online First, Stores Later
There are no newly reopened Bed Bath & Beyond stores in Toronto yet. The company says brick-and-mortar locations are expected to follow in late 2027, but it has not announced addresses, store counts or opening dates. Until then, the relaunch is an e-commerce story.
That approach runs in the opposite direction from some online-led home brands now adding showrooms. Article recently opened its first Toronto store in King West, giving local shoppers a place to test furniture and compare materials before ordering. Bed Bath & Beyond Canada is delaying that in-person layer while it builds its national online business.

What Canadian Shoppers Need to Know
The store is open nationwide at bedbathandbeyond.ca. Current customer-service information lists free shipping on orders over $100 before tax and a $14.95 standard shipping fee for smaller orders. Those terms can change, so shoppers should confirm the threshold at checkout.
The site also advertises 15 per cent off a first order for email subscribers. Product availability and sale pricing can move quickly, and the launch announcement does not promise identical stock across every province. Anyone comparing a specific brand or item should check the Canadian product page rather than relying on listings from the U.S. retailer.
