Canada Child Benefit March 2025 Payment: What You Need to Know
The Canada Child Benefit (CCB) payment for March 2025 arrives Thursday, March 20. Eligible parents and guardians will receive tax-free financial support to help with the costs of raising children under 18.

Who Qualifies for the Canada Child Benefit?
To receive the CCB, you must meet the following criteria:
- You live with a child under 18.
- You are primarily responsible for the child’s care and upbringing.
- You are a resident of Canada for tax purposes.
- You or your spouse/common-law partner are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, protected persons, or Indigenous individuals under the Indian Act.
Foster parents are not eligible for the CCB if they receive Children’s Special Allowances (CSA) for the child. However, caregivers under government-supported kinship programs may qualify if CSA payments are not issued.
How Much Can You Receive?
The Canada Child Benefit amount depends on family income, marital status, and the number of children. Payments are recalculated annually in July based on the previous year’s income tax return.
- Children under 6 years old: Up to $7,787 per year.
- Children aged 6 to 17: Up to $6,570 per year.
- Children with disabilities: An additional $3,173 per year through the Child Disability Benefit.
