Portnoy Calls Emergency Press Conference

In a video labeled an “Emergency Press Conference,” Portnoy, who is Jewish, expressed outrage over the sign. He said he had been “shaking” for hours after seeing the footage and vowed to find everyone responsible. “I’m going to f—ing make it my life f—ing mission to ruin these people,” he said in the video posted to X and Instagram.

Staff Involved Have Been Fired

According to Portnoy, two waitresses who held the sign have already been fired. He described one of them as “one of the dumbest f—ing humans I’ve ever talked to.” He also reached out to a student who posted and later deleted the original video, saying he didn’t believe their denial of antisemitism.

Portnoy Shifts From Rage to Education

Initially, Portnoy wanted severe consequences. But after cooling off, he said he would take a different route. “You really want to ruin somebody’s life? Or do you try to use this as a teaching moment?” he asked.

In a follow-up video, he shared a new plan: send the individuals responsible to Auschwitz, one of the most notorious Nazi concentration camps, as a form of education. “They’ve agreed to go,” Portnoy said. “Hopefully they learn something.”

Rising Tide of Antisemitism

Portnoy also reflected on the broader issue, saying he has faced more hate and antisemitism over the last year and a half than ever before. He emphasized that people must realize the weight of their actions. “It’s not just like words you’re throwing around,” he said.

Despite his fury, Portnoy said he’s trying to stay level-headed. “I’m trying to be responsible, I’m trying to keep it together,” he said. But he made one thing clear: he’s not letting this go.
