The Family Crow Brings Its 100th Performance to Toronto This Halloween
The Family Crow: A Murder Mystery returns to Toronto this Halloween for its 100th performance. The one-person puppet comedy takes over Factory Theatre on Saturday, October 31, 2026, bringing murder, mystery and plenty of crow-themed wordplay to the Mainstage.
Created and performed by Canadian puppeteer Adam Francis Proulx, the 70-minute show starts at 7:30 p.m. and is recommended for audiences ages 14 and up.

A Murder Mystery With a Very Literal Murder
The premise starts with a simple joke: a group of crows is called a murder. In The Family Crow: A Murder Mystery, someone has actually been murdered within one.
That leaves detective Horatio P. Corvus with a case to solve, five suspicious crows to question and very little patience.
Proulx performs all six characters himself. The result mixes puppetry, comedy and a classic whodunit format, with enough bird-related puns to keep things far from a traditional murder mystery.
The production is directed by Byron Laviolette, whose work spans puppetry, clown, immersive theatre and interactive performance.
Toronto audiences may already be familiar with the show. An earlier Toronto run took place in 2022, while the production has also appeared at festivals and venues across Canada and the United States.
It has earned honours including Best New Play at London Fringe, along with awards and audience picks at the Orlando and Vancouver Fringe festivals.
More details about the production are available through The Family Crow’s official website.
Halloween Marks the Show’s 100th Performance
This Toronto date is more than another stop on the show’s schedule. The October 31 performance marks its 100th performance, giving local theatre fans a milestone edition of the production on Halloween night.
The timing also fits the material. Instead of the usual haunted attraction or costume party, Toronto audiences can spend Halloween inside Factory Theatre with a murder mystery built around puppets, suspects and absurd humour.
For anyone planning a full Halloween night downtown, the show begins before some of the city’s later celebrations. Toronto’s Halloween on Church 2026, for example, is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. in the Church-Wellesley Village.
Just keep in mind that The Family Crow runs for approximately 70 minutes with no intermission, so plan travel time accordingly if you are heading somewhere else afterward.
