Waymo Plans to Launch Driverless Robotaxis in Toronto by 2028
Waymo Toronto service is planned for 2028, after the self-driving car company named Toronto as its first city in Canada. Waymo, which is owned by Google’s parent company Alphabet, aims to welcome its first fully driverless passengers in Toronto that year. Before then, its vehicles will begin appearing on city streets with trained specialists behind the wheel. During this phase, Waymo will map Toronto’s roads in detail and test how its system handles local conditions, according to Daily Hive.
