Caribana 2025 Parade Guide: Route, Tickets & Closures in Toronto
Toronto’s biggest summer celebration is back. The Toronto Caribbean Carnival, widely known as Caribana, returns with its iconic Grand Parade on Saturday, August 2, 2025. As North America’s largest Caribbean festival, it draws over 1.3 million visitors each year—and this year promises another full day of colour, music, and movement across the waterfront.
Here’s everything you need to know to plan your day, from the parade route to ticket options and road closures.
Grand Parade Schedule and Route
The Grand Parade runs from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 2. Expect a non-stop stream of vibrant costumes, rhythmic music, and dancing masqueraders for 12 full hours.
Parade Route:
- Starts inside Exhibition Place at Princes’ Boulevard
- Moves through Canada Boulevard
- Heads westbound on Lake Shore Boulevard West
- Turns around just past Jameson Avenue
- Travels eastbound back along Lake Shore
- Re-enters Exhibition Place at British Columbia Road
This loop offers multiple viewing spots along the waterfront. Most areas are free for public viewing, but ticketed zones are available if you prefer reserved seating or VIP perks.

Tickets: Free or Paid?
You don’t need a ticket to enjoy most of the parade, especially if you get a good spot early. But if you’re looking for comfort and access to extras, ticketed options are available.

Road Closures and Traffic Advisory
Caribana 2025 brings major road closures. Plan ahead to avoid traffic surprises and transit delays. Closures begin Saturday, August 2 at 12 a.m. and last until Sunday, August 3 at 7 a.m.

- Jameson Ave on/off ramps (both directions)
- Dunn Ave off-ramp (westbound)
- Lake Shore Blvd West at British Columbia Rd

- Closed westbound from Strachan Ave to Parkside Dr
- Closed eastbound from Colborne Lodge Dr to Strachan Ave
- Princes’ Gates closed to all vehicle traffic starting 1 a.m. Saturday

If you plan to drive, arrive early or consider using transit. The TTC and GO Transit will provide access near Exhibition Place.
