The Honda Indy Toronto returns this weekend, bringing high-speed racing action and major road closures to the city. Whether you’re a motorsports fan or a downtown commuter, here’s what to expect from Friday, July 18 to Sunday, July 20—plus the road closures already in effect.

Event Schedule Highlights

Friday, July 18

  • 9:00 AM: Gates open
  • All-day: Practice sessions (Radical Cup Canada, Miata Canada Cup, USF2000, USF Pro 2000)
  • 12:30–1:30 PM: Autograph session at Heritage Court
  • 3:05–4:25 PM: NTT INDYCAR SERIES first practice
  • 7:00 PM: Rev & Run 5000 – sold-out community run on the race track

Saturday, July 19

  • 8:30 AM: Qualifying sessions (USF2000, USF Pro 2000)
  • Midday: Miata Canada Cup and Radical Cup Canada races
  • 4:20 PM: USF Pro 2000 race
  • 6:40 PM: Ride the Track 2025 – open course for cyclists

Sunday, July 20

  • Morning: INDYCAR SERIES warm-up + support races
  • 12:22 PM: Main eventOntario Honda Dealers Indy Toronto (90 laps)
  • Afternoon: Final races for Radical Cup Canada and Miata Canada Cup

Road Closures in Effect

To accommodate track setup and race events, major closures began Wednesday, July 16 and will continue until 1:00 AM on Monday, July 21:

Closed Until July 21:

  • Lake Shore Boulevard West (both directions): from Strachan Avenue to British Columbia Drive
  • Strachan Avenue (southbound): from Fleet Street to Lake Shore Boulevard West

Traffic Control:

  • Traffic agents on duty (8 AM–8 PM) at:
    • Strachan Ave & East Liberty Street
    • Liberty Street & Hanna Avenue
    • Dufferin Street & Liberty Street

Getting Around

If you’re not attending the event, plan ahead. Expect delays in the Exhibition Place and Liberty Village areas. Public transit is strongly recommended for those commuting downtown this weekend.

If the Sunday race is delayed or canceled, the City of Toronto has confirmed it may be rescheduled to Monday, July 21.
