South Park Blasts Trump and Paramount in Explosive Season 27 Premiere
South Park returned for its 27th season this week with an episode that doesn’t hold back. The animated series targeted both Donald Trump and its new corporate partner, Paramount, just a day after signing a massive $1.5 billion deal with the media giant.

Episode Takes Aim at Trump, Colbert Cancellation, and “Wokeness”
The premiere episode, titled “Sermon on the Mount,” features Trump in bed—literally—with Satan, echoing the show’s past treatment of Saddam Hussein. Creators used real images of Trump pasted onto a cartoon body, and in one scene, they depicted him naked and crawling through a desert in a bizarre “pro-Trump” promo produced by the town of South Park.
They portray Trump as a vengeful, thin-skinned president who threatens lawsuits against anyone who disagrees with him. When South Park parents object to placing Jesus in public schools, Trump sues them for $5 billion. Under pressure, Jesus urges the townspeople to settle quickly.
“You saw what happened to CBS? Well, guess who owns CBS? Paramount. You want to end up like Colbert?”
Satire Tied to Real-World Events
The episode directly references:

- Paramount’s $16M settlement with Trump over a “60 Minutes” interview with Kamala Harris
- The abrupt cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert
- Paramount’s ongoing merger with Skydance, which needs approval from the Trump-led FCC
These events are presented as examples of media backing down under political pressure. Anchors in a spoof of “60 Minutes” nervously praise Trump, while Jesus bluntly says Paramount forced his appearance at the school as part of a legal agreement.
Cartman, reacting to his favorite NPR show being canceled, says:
“The government can’t cancel shows… What are they going to cancel next?”
Paramount Deal Creates Awkward Timing
The satire hits harder knowing the episode aired just one day after Parker and Stone’s studio inked a $1.5 billion deal with Paramount. The deal includes 50 new South Park episodes over five years and exclusive global streaming rights via Paramount+.

Journalist Dylan Byers called the episode “one of the most defiant moves in media recently,” noting the irony of Parker and Stone roasting the very company that just signed them.
Trump, Satan, and the Epstein List
In another biting scene, Satan questions Trump about his ties to Jeffrey Epstein and asks directly if his name is on the infamous “Epstein list.” Trump avoids the question, brushing it off—a clear jab at recent controversy over the U.S. government’s decision to withhold Epstein-related documents.
Do you think South Park crossed a line, or is this exactly the kind of satire we need more of?
