Toronto’s Offline Market Sets Two September Weekends for Local Back-to-School Finds
Back-to-school shopping does not have to mean heading to the same big stores.
This September, Offline Market is bringing more than 25 local vendors to Ossington Green P for two weekends of independent shopping, vintage clothing, handmade goods, food, drinks, and live music.
The market series supports small businesses, artists, designers, vintage curators, and local brands that may not have their own storefront or regular retail space in Toronto.
Its latest edition is designed around the start of the school season, creating another way for shoppers to find useful and unique items while supporting businesses in the GTA.

Two Weekends, One Local Shopping Stop
Offline Market will run across four days in September, with different hours for each weekend. The first dates will offer a longer afternoon and evening window, while the second weekend will run during the day. Here is what shoppers should know:
- Date: September 12–13 and September 19–20 (Saturdays and Sundays)
- Time:
- First Weekend: 12:00 PM until late
- Second Weekend: 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM
- Location: Ossington Green P
- Admission: Free
The market will have plenty to do beyond browsing stalls. Live DJs will provide music throughout the event, while food and drinks will be available for visitors. Ruru Baked is also joining the market with ice cream served from its iconic RuRu Truck.
With two weekends on the calendar, visitors can choose the date that works best for them and take their time browsing the stalls.

A Market Made for Independent Businesses
Offline Market was formed to connect independent businesses with shoppers without needing a traditional storefront. This makes the September event more than a seasonal shopping trip.
The vendor mix will include small businesses and creative sellers, with vintage clothing and handmade products among the offerings. For people who prefer buying from independent brands, the market is an opportunity to discover several of them in one place.
The organizers say the goal is to encourage Toronto residents to “shop local and support Canadian small businesses across the GTA.”
The message also connects with the market’s plans for a new public art feature.
A Surprise Art Project May Join the Lineup
Organizers are hoping to create another surprise public art installation for the September market. The idea follows an installation they produced in June, which was a large-scale piece made with more than 400 shopping bags.

Details about the new project have not been shared yet, leaving its design as one of the event’s surprises. The organizers say the installation will encourage people to support independent businesses in Toronto and across the GTA.
By pairing the new artwork with local vendors, food, music, and creative goods, Offline Market is using the September event to show how supporting small businesses can also be part of the city’s creative community.
