Starbucks Offers Free Coffee the Monday After the Super Bowl: How to Get Yours (U.S. Only)
If you need a caffeine boost after staying up for the Super Bowl, Starbucks has you covered. The coffee chain is offering free tall hot or iced brewed coffee to Starbucks Rewards members on Monday, February 10, as part of its “Starbucks Monday” promotion.

How to Get Your Free Starbucks Coffee
Starbucks Rewards members can claim a free coffee by applying the Starbucks Monday coupon in the Starbucks app before placing an order. Customers ordering in-store or via drive-thru can also mention the coupon to their barista.
Not a Starbucks Rewards member? You can sign up by 11:59 p.m. PT on February 9 to receive the coupon in the app. If you sign up on February 10, you can ask a barista in-store for your free coffee.
Why Is Starbucks Giving Away Free Coffee?
Starbucks is leveraging the post-Super Bowl slump to boost brand engagement. The company estimates that over 22 million U.S. employees plan to skip work the day after the game. By offering free coffee, Starbucks is tapping into a high-demand moment to encourage app engagement and store visits.
Starbucks’ Super Bowl Marketing Strategy
The free coffee promotion is part of Starbucks’ broader marketing campaign, “Hello Again.” The campaign aims to reconnect with customers and highlight the brand’s identity. A 60-second ad featuring baristas preparing drinks aired during the Super Bowl pre-game show on Fox. A shorter 15-second ad will promote Starbucks Monday during the post-game show.
Valentine’s Day Specials at Starbucks
Beyond the Super Bowl promotion, Starbucks has also introduced limited-time Valentine’s Day drinks. These include:
- Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Créme Frappuccino – A blend of strawberry puree, Frappuccino chips, milk, and ice, topped with whipped cream and mocha drizzle.
- Chocolate Hazelnut Cookie Cold Brew – Starbucks Cold Brew sweetened with vanilla syrup, topped with hazelnut-flavored cold foam and chocolate cookie crumbles.
The company has also released a Valentine’s Day drinkware collection featuring heart-themed tumblers and cold cups, available while supplies last.
Starbucks’ Turnaround Plan
Starbucks has faced challenges, including a 4% drop in U.S. comparable store sales in Q1 of fiscal year 2025. In response, the company is shifting its budget from discounting to marketing. The “Hello Again” campaign and Starbucks Monday promotion are key parts of this effort.
If you’re not already a member, signing up before the deadline ensures you don’t miss out on this post-game perk.
