Canada’s Wonderland Kicks Off Halloween Season This Weekend With Haunt and Tricks & Treats
Halloween Haunt returns Friday, September 25, followed by the family-friendly Tricks & Treats daytime event on Saturday, September 26. Halloween season is about to take over Canada’s Wonderland, with two very different ways to spend a fall day – or night – in Vaughan.
Halloween Haunt opens Friday, September 25, bringing haunted mazes, scare zones, live shows and nighttime rides back to the park. A day later, Tricks & Treats begins its daytime run for families looking for costumes, candy and Halloween activities without the full-scale scares.
Both events continue on select dates through November 1, 2026.
Halloween Haunt enters its 20th operating season
Canada’s Wonderland says 2026 marks the 20th operating season of Halloween Haunt, which first opened as Fearfest in 2005. Once the sun goes down, the park shifts into its nighttime Halloween setup with hundreds of monsters, six haunted mazes and seven scare zones across the grounds.
Guests can enter attractions including Cornstalkers, Dark Ride and Demons of the Deep. Access to the haunted mazes requires a Haunted Attractions Pass, which is separate from park admission. Canada’s Wonderland recommends Halloween Haunt for guests ages 13 and older.
The Conjuring: Beyond Fear is back
One of the major add-on attractions returning this year is The Conjuring: Beyond Fear.
The attraction puts guests in the role of paranormal investigators dealing with cursed artifacts and entities from The Conjuring universe, including Annabelle.
The Conjuring: Beyond Fear requires a separate purchase and is recommended for guests ages 13 and older.
There’s more than haunted mazes
Visitors who need a break from the mazes can catch live entertainment throughout the evening.
Inferno brings fire-based stunts and contortion performances to the park, while Head Bangers combines LED drumming, techno beats and water drumming. Live bands and additional performers are also scheduled throughout Halloween Haunt.
Many of Canada’s Wonderland’s rides also continue operating after dark, giving visitors the option to mix haunted attractions with nighttime coaster rides.
Tricks & Treats keeps Halloween family-friendly
For families with younger kids, Tricks & Treats begins Saturday, September 26 and runs on select daytime dates through November 1.
Regular park admission includes Tricks & Treats, which takes place before Halloween Haunt begins for the evening.
Kids can wear costumes and take part in the PEANUTS Costume Party, follow a Trick or Treat Adventure around the park, meet characters in Wicked Hollow and make their way through the family-friendly Corn Maze.
There is also a daytime version of Spirit Manor. Rather than the darker Haunt treatment, the family version uses brighter lighting, a lighter soundtrack and friendly ghosts. Shows with clowns, magicians and a comedic juggler are also part of the daytime lineup.
